Air Transat has this week revealed plans to operate new flights from Montreal & Quebec City to Tulum in Mexico for the Winter 2024/25 season.
The carrier has released information pertinent to these new flights, which we will detail in this piece.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
The New Air Transat Flights to Tulum From Montreal & Quebec City…
Air Transat will launch new flights to Tulum from Montreal (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB) over the Winter 2024/25 season.
From YUL, this will begin on December 19, and will operate until April 27 next year.
As for YQB, this will begin on December 21, and run through to April 26 next year.
Tulum becomes the fifth destination in Mexico for the airline, and accompanies Acapulco, Cancun, Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta.
Chief Revenue Officer: Important Step in Airline’s Development…
Commenting on this milestone was Sebastian Ponce, Air Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer:
“This new service to Tulum is an important step in our development and diversification strategy in Mexico, one of our most important markets in the South.”
“By adding Tulum as our third destination in Quintana Roo, we are responding to the growing demand for this region, while strengthening our position as the leader in travel to the South from Montreal and Quebec City”.
This is the second bit of news pertinent to growth for Air Transat.
Back in June, they launched new transatlantic flights between Montreal and Marrakech.
The new route marks yet another to it’s portfolio of transatlantic services on offer into Africa.
Air Transat launched it’s flights between Montréal and Marrakech on June 12 under the flight number TS396.
It is understood that this non-stop service will operate year-round.
Furthermore, throughout the Summer it will operate on a twice-weekly service and once weekly between November and April.
Overall…
In conclusion, this is another strong step for Air Transat through these Tulum flights from Montreal and Quebec City.
Whilst the airline reported mixed results in Q224, the carrier is exploring different markets to help overcome this.
Looking ahead, all eyes turn to the Winter season to see how these new routes perform.
But for now, it will be interesting to see if the airline announces anymore Winter destinations throughout this Summer season.
