Air Serbia achieved further growth in 2024, carrying 4.44 million passengers on scheduled and charter flights. This impressive figure represents a 6% increase from their previous record-setting year in 2023.
Operating from its main hub in Belgrade and two additional international airports in Niš and Kraljevo, the airline conducted 47,022 flights, marking a 4% growth from the previous year.
The airline’s cargo operations also reached unprecedented heights, transporting over 7,144 tons of cargo. This was a remarkable 25.14% increase and the most successful cargo performance since the company adopted its current name.

Air Serbia 2024 In Review
In a comprehensive review of the year’s achievements, Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek emphasized the airline’s strategic focus and accomplishments. “We entered 2024 with clear objectives to build upon our 2023 success, concentrating on operational stability and service enhancement.”
“Our strong performance demonstrates that we successfully achieved these goals. Throughout the past 366 days, we expanded our reach to 33 countries across four continents, serving more than 4.4 million passengers.”
“We’ve made substantial progress in advancing Serbia’s aviation industry, including a milestone achievement of training our first female captain and establishing an innovative cadet pilot program in partnership with the Aviation Academy.
“This groundbreaking program enables us to recruit ten promising young pilots directly after their training completion.”
Fleet Expansion Program
The airline’s fleet expansion in 2024 was particularly noteworthy, growing to 27 aircraft comprising three wide-body jets, fourteen narrow-body aircraft, and ten turboprops.
A significant highlight was the addition of their third Airbus A330-200, registered as YU-ARD, featuring distinctive EXPO 2027 livery.
This aircraft joined the fleet in early October and marked a historic moment by operating the airline’s longest non-stop flight between Belgrade and Tokyo on October 18.

Network Expansion
Network expansion remained a key priority, with Air Serbia introducing new scheduled flights to Mostar and Guangzhou while reestablishing direct service to Nice.
Regional routes saw strong performance, particularly to destinations such as Tivat, Podgorica, Istanbul, Athens, Vienna, and Ljubljana.
The carrier’s Western European and Euro-Mediterranean services continued to attract high passenger numbers, especially on routes to Zurich, Paris, Larnaca, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, London, and Rome.
In the long-haul sector, Air Serbia operated an impressive network stretching from Guangzhou in the East to New York and Chicago in the West.
The airline further expanded its reach by launching scheduled flights between Belgrade and Shanghai in early 2025, reinforcing its commitment to long-haul route development.

Customer Service
Customer service enhancement remained a priority, leading to a strategic partnership with Menzies Aviation in March 2024.
This collaboration transferred ground handling operations at Belgrade Airport from Belgrade Airport Company to Menzies, a globally recognized service provider now managing aircraft handling, passenger check-in, and boarding procedures.
The airline’s Premium Lounge at Belgrade Airport demonstrated strong performance, serving over 86,000 passengers throughout 2024, with July proving particularly busy with more than 9,200 visitors.
Plans are underway for a new, modernized Premium Lounge at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, promising enhanced comfort and services for premium passengers.
Belgrade’s position in the global aviation landscape was significantly strengthened when it hosted the prestigious CAPA 2024 International Aviation Summit in November.
The event, organized jointly by the City of Belgrade and Air Serbia, attracted over 250 international aviation leaders and industry experts, solidifying the airline’s status as a key regional player.

2024 Accolades
The year brought numerous accolades, including Air Serbia’s induction into the ATW Hall of Fame. Global Traveler magazine recognized it as Eastern Europe’s premier airline, while AirHelp ranked it tenth among the world’s best airlines in 2024, acknowledging its commitment to service excellence.
In a pioneering move towards inclusive travel, Air Serbia partnered with the Union of the Blind of Serbia to introduce Braille emergency procedure instructions across its fleet.
