Air Serbia has this week announced plans to boost it’s presence in China with new flights between Belgrade and Guangzhou.
The Serbian carrier is utilising the demand from China and is seeing successes from this.

The New Belgrade-Guangzhou Flights with Air Serbia…
Air Serbia plans to launch flights between Belgrade (BEG) and Guangzhou (CAN) in China on September 30 this year.
It is understood that these flights will operate on a twice per week basis, operating on Mondays and Fridays.
The scheduling for these new flights in the existing season will see a departure time of 0050 local time from the Serbian capital.
It will arrive into the Chinese city at 2210 local time.
For the Winter, the Air Serbia flights will depart Belgrade at 0050 local time, and arrive into Guangzhou at 2310 local time.
Airline CEO: Expanding Cooperation With China…
Giving a lengthy statement on these new flights was Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek who said the following:
“When we established direct flights between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China on 9 December 2022, after a hiatus of over two decades, we once again opened the doors of Asia to passengers from the wider Balkan region.”
“The service significantly contributed to boosting cooperation and bilateral relations between Serbia and China, positively stimulating economic growth, trade relations, tourism and cultural exchange.”
“The recently signed ‘Statement on deepening and raising the comprehensive strategic partnership and the building of a community between Serbia and China with a common future in the new era’ as the highest form of cooperation between our two countries, provided an additional impetus for launching direct flights to our second destination in People’s Republic of China.”
“As of 30 September, you can fly directly between Belgrade and Guangzhou with Air Serbia,”
Overall…
In conclusion, it is clear that the cooperation agreements between China and Serbia are working.
Furthermore, it is definitely benefitting Air Serbia through the addition of Belgrade-Guangzhou flights.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on launch day to see how the new flights perform.
If there is strong demand on the twice-weekly service, then there will be scope for the frequencies to expand in due time.
