Air Samarkand, a rapidly growing Uzbekistan airline, is set to launch a new international flight to Tel Aviv, Israel, starting May 4.

This development marks another milestone in the airline’s expansion and strengthens connections between two vibrant, culturally rich cities.

The new weekly flight will operate every Sunday, connecting Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with Tel Aviv. Travelers can expect a comfortable journey aboard a modern Airbus A321 aircraft.

The flight departs Samarkand at 6:00 AM and arrives in Tel Aviv at 9:25 AM local time, taking about five and a half hours.

The return flight leaves Tel Aviv at 11:20 AM, landing in Samarkand at 6:40 PM local time. This schedule offers convenience for both business and leisure travelers.

Strengthening Bonds Between Uzbekistan and Israel

The new route strengthens bonds between Uzbekistan and Israel. By linking Samarkand and Tel Aviv, Air Samarkand aims to boost tourism, business, and cultural exchanges.

“Launching regular flights to Tel Aviv is a key step in deepening ties between our countries,” said Zafar Butayev, CEO of Air Samarkand. “We’ve seen strong demand from business travelers, tourists, and pilgrims seeking a reliable and affordable way to travel between these historic cities.”

This route aligns with recent efforts to enhance cooperation between the two nations. In 2024, Israel backed Uzbekistan’s bid to join the World Trade Organization.

Earlier this year, both countries held talks on labor migration, aiming to expand social and economic partnerships. The new flight will make it easier for people to connect, fostering stronger relationships.

Air Samarkand’s Bold Expansion

The Tel Aviv route is part of Air Samarkand’s ambitious plan to grow its international network. In 2025, the airline aims to increase flight frequencies and add more destinations. It’s also investing in modern aircraft and better customer service to compete in Central Asia’s aviation market.

Since launching scheduled flights in March 2024, Air Samarkand has added routes to Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Jeddah, Medina, Nha Trang, Phú Quốc, and Sharm el-Sheikh.

The airline also operates a domestic shuttle between Samarkand and Tashkent, catering to both workers and tourists. Charter flights to cities like Batumi, Delhi, Dubai, and Tbilisi have been popular, with Jeddah standing out as a top destination.

Samarkand, a key stop on the historic Silk Road, is experiencing a tourism boom. The city is modernizing while preserving its cultural treasures, offering visitors a mix of ancient landmarks and contemporary comforts.
