Air France AF1887 Edinburgh-Paris Declares Emergency

Air France flight AF1887, an Embraer ERJ-190 inbound from Edinburgh, declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 while on approach to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

An Air France flight inbound from Edinburgh has declared an emergency whilst on approach to Paris in the last few moments.

Air France flight AF1887, an Embraer ERJ-190 from Edinburgh Airport (EDI) declared the emergency with transponder code 7700 while on approach to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).

Flight AF1887 declared the emergency whilst established in the descent, passing through FL110. The nature of the emergency is not yet known. Flight crew have expedited the approach into the destination Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Landed Paris CDG


Having declared an emergency and expediting its approach into the destination this morning, Air France flight AF1887 has now landed Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. We will advise further updates on the emergency as they come to hand.

Flight Details


Flight data shows that flight AF1887 had departed from Edinburgh Airport at 0617 local time this morning.
Following the departure, the flight had set course normally, climbing to flight level FL370 for the southerly service to Paris.
Top of descent procedure and initial approach procedures were similarly conducted normally. Flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 whilst passing through FL110 at 0730 UTC.

Flight crew then continued the descent and approach procedures into Paris Charles de Gaulle under the emergency priority.

The aircraft conducting the AF1887 rotation from Edinburgh this morning was an Embraer ERJ-190, registered F-HBLH. This is a 15.8 year old regional aircraft belonging to the national carrier Air France. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in March 2009.
