An Air France regional flight AF1818 operating from Paris to Frankfurt declared an emergency and made a return to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on 21 July 2024.
Air France Hop flight AF1818, and Embraer E190 operating to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) declared an emergency just after departure from Paris (CDG).

Flight crew declared the emergency with transponder code 7700 whilst initiating an immediate return to the origin airport.
Flight data shows that the flight crew terminated the climb procedure at flight level FL120 (12,000 feet). Operating crew then conducted a wide right hand circuit to return to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
The nature of the emergency prompting the early return is not yet known.
The flight had made an on-time departure out of Paris (CDG) at 1807 local time on Sunday 21 July.
The flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 approximately 10 minutes after the flight’s initial departure.

The aircraft conducting the AF1818 regional service to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) was and Embraer ERJ-190, registered F-HBLL. Air France subsidiary Air France Hop operate this 5.2-year-old regional jet.
It has been in service with the carrier since its initial delivery in May 2019.
Air France Hop, formerly branded HOP!, is a French regional airline operating flights on behalf of its parent company Air France. The airline was founded in 2013 after the merger of Airlinair, Brit Air and Régional brands.
Air France Hop operates a network of over 50 destinations within France and Europe. They function as a feeder airline for Air France, flying passengers to connecting flights at Air France’s hubs.
Air France Hop primarily operates short and medium-haul flights using a fleet of turboprop aircraft.
In December 2020, Air France announced a restructuring plan for Air France Hop. This plan would see HOP! becoming a smaller feeder carrier, while its Paris-Orly hub would be transferred to Transavia France.
The plan also called for the retirement of HOP!’s Bombardier CRJ fleet.
