An Air France flight operating from Paris Charles De Gaulle to Montreal has declared an emergency in the last few moments, squawking transponder code 7700.
Air France flight AF348, an Airbus A350-900 bound for Montréal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) declared the emergency enroute and appears to be diverting to St. John’s International Airport.

Flight AF348 declared the emergency whilst on flight plan track for Montreal in cruising flight. The aircraft has now left cruising altitude and is passing through FL300 on track for the diversion airport at St. John’s. The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

Flight AF348 has continued its diversion course for St. John’s International Airport (YYT). The flight is now passing through FL180 in the early stages of the approach.
Update 23:27 UTC: Medical Emergency Prompts Diversion
According to the online source @FlightEmergency, a medical issue onboard has prompted the emergency declaration and diversion. The flight has expedited an approach to St. John’s International Airport (YYT) and is now below 10,000 feet in the early stages of approach.
Weather for the flight’s arrival is VFR with 15 miles visibility. Wind strength is 20-26kt from 260° with runway 28 active for arrivals.
Flight AF348 is now establishing on a long finals for runway 28.
23:44 UTC: Landed St. John’s (YYT)
Air France AF348, originally bound for Montreal from Paris, has now landed runway 28 St. John’s International Airport. Flight crew had declared a medical emergency and made the diversion earlier today.
The aircraft conducting today’s AF348 rotation to Montréal Trudeau International Airport was an Airbus A350-900, registered F-HTYC. This is a 5.1 year old widebody aircraft belonging to the national carrier Air France. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in February 2019.
