An Air France Airbus A321 bound for Athens from Paris made an emergency diversion to Venice after reporting a burning odour on board on 25 March 2025.
Air France flight AF1532, operated by an Airbus A321-200, had departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
The aircraft was performing a routine scheduled service to Athens International Airport (ATH).

As the aircraft transited Italian airspace en route, flight crew declared an emergency, reporting a burning odour on board.
The decision was then made to conduct a precautionary diversion to nearby Venice.
The flight subsequently landed on runway 04R Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), the 20 minutes after the diversion was initiated.

According to the Aviation Herald, the aircraft was brought to a stop on the runway to allow an inspection by emergency services. The flight then taxied to the apron hardstanding area a few minutes afterwards.
The airline mustered a replacement aircraft to complete the onwards scheduled service to Athens.

Flight data shows that flight AF1532 and departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 09:52 local time on 25 March.
The departure, the flight had climbed to flight level FL350 and conducted the south westerly service to Athens.
Flight crew squawked emergency transponder code 7700 at 10:21 UTC whilst in cruising flight. With the aircraft in Italian airspace, a direct diversion to Venice was then carried out.

The aircraft conducting the AF1532 rotation from Paris was an Airbus A321-200, registered F-GTAZ. This is a 13.4 year old narrow body aircraft belonging to the national carrier Air France.
It has been operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in November 2011. The aircraft bears the airline name ‘Saint Quentin’.
