In the last few moments, an Air France Boeing 787 operating AF342 between Paris and Montreal has declared an emergency.

F-HRBA is the aircraft involved in the incident.

In the last few moments, an Air France Boeing 787 operating AF342 between Paris and Montreal has declared an emergency.

UPDATE #1 @ 1208 UK time – The aircraft has made a deviation near the Irish coast.

UPDATE #2 @ 1213 UK time – The aircraft is descending from FL380 at present.

Air France AF342, which declared the emergency, is passing through FL300, and seems to be heading in the direction of Dublin currently.

Diversion field is still not yet confirmed.

UPDATE #3 @ 1214 UK time – F-HRBA is the aircraft involved in the emergency incident.

Furthermore, as per Planespotters, F-HRBA is a 8.5 year old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that was delivered to the airline back in November 2016.

Of the Boeing 787-9 variant, Air France has 10 of them in their fleet.

Moreover, all 10 are in commercial service, with an average fleet age of 7.0 years.

UPDATE #4 @ 1218 UK time – CONFIRMED!

Air France flight AF342, bound for Montreal from Paris, will be diverting to Dublin following the Emergency 7700 squawk broadcast.

At this stage, the reason is still unknown.

UPDATE #5 @ 1223 UK time – Air France flight AF342 Paris-Montreal, the Boeing 787 which declared the emergency, is passing through FL150 on a straight track towards the intercept into Dublin.

UPDATE #6 @ 1227 UK time – Not far away from landing!

Furthermore, the Boeing 787 is approaching the base leg portion of the approach onto the 28s at Dublin Airport.

UPDATE #7 @ 1233 UK time – The aircraft is now on final approach into Dublin Airport.

Landing is expected imminently, with the 787 still squawking 7700 currently.

UPDATE #8 @ 1236 UK time – TOUCHDOWN!

Air France flight AF342 Paris-Montreal, the Boeing 787 which declared the emergency, has appeared to have safely touched down into Dublin following it’s 7700 broadcast not too long ago.

Furthermore, the reason for the emergency is still unclear, with more updates to no doubt follow soon.

Overall, this remains a developing story.

UPDATE #9 @ 1238 UK time – ATC have communicated to the flight that an ambulance is waiting on stand.

This would indicate a serious medical emergency onboard.
