An Air Do Boeing 737-700 operating a scheduled service from Tokyo experienced a hydraulic failure during its approach into Kushiro on 7 July 2024.
Air Do flight HD73, a Boeing 737-700 operating from Tokyo Haneda International Airport was on approach to Kushiro when the issue was detected.
Air Do HD73 Tokyo-Kushiro
Flight crew noted a hydraulic failure indication during the approach procedure. Due to weather conditions at Kushiro, the flight crew elected to carry out a diversion north to
Nakashibetsu Airport (NHB).
Following the diversion, the aircraft landed at Nakashibetsu Airport without further incident. The flight was able to vacate the active runway, however it became disabled on the taxiway.
As a result, the aircraft was placed under tow and moved to the apron hardstanding area. During the aircraft’s postflight inspection a hydraulic leak was confirmed in one of the three hydraulic systems.
The active runway and taxiway were then cleaned by ground crews following the landing.
Flight Details
Flight data shows that flight HD73 made an on-time departure out of Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) at 1631 local time.
The aircraft then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL390 (39,000 feet). It then proceeded with the northerly service to Kushiro Airport (KUH).
Having detected the hydraulic system fault during the approach to the intended destination, the aircraft then continued to the north on diversion to Nakashibetsu Airport.
The aircraft conducting the HD73 domestic service from Tokyo was a Boeing 737-700, registered JA07AN.
