An Air Caraibes Airbus A350-100 operating a service from Paris Orly to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe declared an emergency whilst en route on 25 December. The flight subsequently conducted a diversion to Nantes Atlantique Airport.
Air Caraibes flight FWI40C, operated by an Airbus A350-1000, had conducted a departure from Paris Orly Airport (ORY). The aircraft was conducting a scheduled service bound for Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport (PTP), Guadeloupe.

As the flight passed across the west coast of France on flight plan track to Guadeloupe, flight crew declared an emergency squawking transponder code 7700.
The nature of the emergency is not yet known. Following the emergency declaration, flight crew elected to conduct a diversion to nearby Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE).

Flight data shows that flight FWI40C had conducted a departure from Paris Orly Airport at 1114 local time on 25 December.
The flight then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL360 (36,000 feet) for the south-westerly service to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.
The aircraft was in cruising flight and then crossed the west coast of France when the emergency was declared at 1058 UTC.
A descent and direct track for the diversion airport of Nantes Atlantique was then carried out.
The aircraft was able to carry out the onwards service from Nantes to Pointe-à-Pitre. It departing just over an hour after landing at the diversion airport.
The aircraft conducting the flight FWI40C service from Paris Orly was an Airbus A350-1000, registered F-HMIL. This is a 7.9 year old wide-body aircraft belonging to the carrier Air Caraibes Atlantique. It has been in operational service with the airline since December 2019.
Air Caraïbes Atlantique is a French airline based in the French West Indies, with its headquarters in Les Abymes in Guadeloupe. It is a subsidiary of Air Caraïbes, a larger airline also based in Guadeloupe.
