Air Canada, Canada’s national carrier, launched its seasonal Dublin to Vancouver route on May 4, 2025, kicking off a busy summer.
This popular service forms part of the airline’s extensive transatlantic schedule, which includes nearly 50 routes between Europe and Canada. The airline presently has three routes departing from Dublin Airport.
Dublin-Vancouver Summer Service
Flight AC919, the first of the season, left Dublin on Sunday and landed at Vancouver International Airport nine hours later.
To celebrate the route’s return, Air Canada announced a significant capacity increase, building on an earlier boost planned in February. This decision reflects growing demand for travel to British Columbia’s vibrant city.
The updated schedule offers Irish travelers up to five weekly flights, up from three in previous years. The operating season has also been extended from June-September to May-October, giving more people the chance to explore Vancouver.
The five-weekly-flight schedule now runs through mid-October, ensuring greater flexibility for passengers.
Air Canada is the only airline offering direct flights between Dublin and British Columbia. This exclusive route connects Irish travelers to a region known for its stunning landscapes, rich cultural landmarks, and lively arts scene.
The increased capacity aligns with Dublin Airport’s temporary suspension of its passenger cap, allowing Air Canada to add more flights to this must-visit destination.

Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada’s Sales Manager for Ireland, was pleased with the news. “We’re delighted to expand our Dublin-Vancouver service this summer due to strong demand for travel to Canada.”
“After steadily increasing capacity this year, we’re thrilled to add more flights through autumn. Whether for business, leisure, or visiting loved ones, our customers will enjoy a smooth transatlantic journey.”

Beyond Vancouver, Air Canada’s expanded schedule enhances connections to other exciting locations.
Through its hubs in Montreal and Toronto, passengers can easily reach destinations like Punta Cana, San Jose, Mexico City, and Cancun—places not directly served from Ireland. These seamless connections offer Irish travelers more options and potential savings.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner ensures a comfortable journey with its award-winning in-flight entertainment system. Passengers can access over 1,400 hours of movies, 1,900 hours of TV shows, 600 hours of music, and podcasts.
Live TV is available at every seat where supported, and partnerships with Apple TV+, Audible, Disney+, and Hayu provide diverse content in multiple languages. From boarding to landing, travelers can enjoy movies, specialty channels, music, and games.
