Air Canada Announces New Tulum Route and Resumed Winter Sun Services

Air Canada will reconnect popular sun destinations, including a new route from Québec City to Tulum, Mexico for the winter 2024/25 season.

Air Canada will launch new weekly flights from Québec City to Tulum, Mexico’s newest airport in the Yucatan peninsula, beginning 13 December, 2024.

The airline will also resume non-stop services from Québec City for winter 2024-25 to popular sun destinations. These include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Punta Cana and Cancun.

Tulum: New Weekly Non-Stop Flights

Québec City residents can trade their snow boots for sandals! Air Canada has unveiled exciting plans for the upcoming winter season, offering a new escape from the Canadian chill.

The most significant announcement is the launch of brand new weekly non-stop flights from Québec City to Tulum, Mexico.

This service kicks off on December 13th, 2024, and provides convenient access to Tulum’s recently opened airport located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera.

Tulum has become a trendy vacation destination, boasting stunning beaches, ancient Mayan ruins, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

Air Canada’s new route makes it easier than ever for Québec residents to experience this slice of paradise firsthand.

While the new Tulum route is a major highlight, Air Canada isn’t stopping there. The airline will also be resuming non-stop flights from Québec City to some of the most beloved winter sun destinations. These include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Punta Cana, and Cancun.

These iconic locations offer something for everyone. Orlando is a haven for theme park enthusiasts, and Fort Lauderdale provides access to the stunning Florida coastline.

Punta Cana boasts all-inclusive resorts and pristine beaches, and Cancun offers a vibrant mix of Mayan culture and modern amenities.

Choice for Québec Travelers

“We’re thrilled to offer Québec residents a new way to experience the Mayan Riviera with our non-stop flights to Tulum,” shared Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada.

“Additionally, resuming service to popular sun destinations provides more travel options for winter getaways. Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations offer a wide variety of travel packages, making it easier than ever to plan your dream vacation.”

This expansion in service caters directly to Québec residents’ desire for sunny escapes during the winter months.

Win-Win for Québec City and Air Canada

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from both Air Canada and Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB).

Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of YQB, expressed his optimism. “We’re delighted to see Tulum added to the list of destinations available to travelers from the Québec City region.”

“This, along with the return of popular routes like Cancun, Punta Cana, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale, demonstrates Air Canada’s commitment to our market. We appreciate their continued investment and fruitful collaboration with YQB.”

This strategic move strengthens Air Canada’s presence in Québec City and caters to the growing demand for warm-weather getaways.

It also benefits YQB by attracting more passengers and solidifying its position as a major travel hub.
