During the flight’s climb out of Casablanca, flight crew reportedly experienced flight control problems. They were unable to maintain directional control and the aircraft flew with a continuous slight bank.
According to a report by the online source Aviation Herald, the aircraft had conducted a delayed departure from Casablanca following maintenance actions.
During the pre-flight maintenance, the trim actuator had been replaced on the aircraft. After flight crew experienced the control issue, consultation was conducted with company maintenance personnel.
The consensus was to continue with the flight to Istanbul. Flight crew compensated for the slight left hand bank tendency by applying right-hand rudder trim, albeit beyond the trim limit.
