Air Arabia, the leading low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, has launched a new direct route to Russia.
The new service will connect Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Moscow Domodedovo International Airport. This three-times-weekly service aims to strengthen ties between the UAE and Russia, despite recent concerns surrounding Russian airspace.
Inaugural Flight Ras Al Khaimah-Moscow
The inaugural flight was celebrated with a ceremony at RAK International Airport, attended by dignitaries from both countries.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel options. He highlighted the further commitment to supporting the growth of tourism and trade between the UAE and Russia.
Air Arabia operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, offering passengers enhanced comfort with features like ‘SkyTime,’ a free in-flight streaming service, and ‘SkyCafe,’ an onboard catering service.
The airline’s ‘Air Rewards’ loyalty program allows passengers to earn, transfer, and spend points, making travel even more rewarding.
This new route to Moscow complements Air Arabia’s existing network from Ras Al Khaimah, which includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Calicut.
Recent Security Concerns
However, the launch of this new route comes amidst heightened concerns regarding the safety of Russian airspace.
The recent crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft is now suspected to have been caused by Russian air defense systems. This has raised serious questions about the stability and security of the region’s airspace.
