Last weekend, an Air Algerie flight to Lyon made an emergency landing into it’s departure point of Constantine with a problem onboard.
Information has been released pertinent to the incident at hand, which we will get into in this article.

Air Algerie Flight AH1460 – Constantine to Lyon…
Air Algerie flight AH1460, which made the emergency landing, is a routine scheduled flight between Constantine and Lyon.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was 7T-VJO.
As per data from Planespotters.net, 7T-VJO is a 23.3 year old Boeing 737-800 that was delivered to the airline back in June 2001.
Of the 737-800 variant, Air Algerie have 25 of them in their fleet.
Furthermore, of the 25, all but one are in active service, with an average fleet age of 15.4 years.
As well as the 737-800, the airline has the following other aircraft in their fleet:
- 15 ATR 72s.
- 8 Airbus A330s.
- 5 Boeing 737-600s.
- 2 Boeing 737-700s.
Air Algerie flight AH1460, which made the emergency landing, departed Constantine at 0919 local time on August 25 bound for Lyon.
Moments before reaching the cruise, the aircraft made a u-turn as well as a rapid descent back to the Algerian airport.
It is understood the aircraft landed safely without further incident.
As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood the emergency landing was due to a loss of cabin pressure.
It is understood also that the passenger oxygen masks were deployed as a result.
Aircraft Grounded For Three Days Following the Emergency Landing…
Following the emergency landing of Air Algerie flight AH1460 Constantine-Lyon, 7T-VJO was grounded for three days as a result.
This was needed to replace the oxygen masks and check the rest of the aircraft before returning to commercial service.
The aircraft operated AH7001 on August 28, with no further flights recorded at the time of writing.
