An ACT Airlines Boeing 747-400F performing a freighter service from Paris, France to Doha, Qatar return to the origin airport on 31 July 2024 following a technical issue.
The ACT Airlines 747-400F freighter aircraft was performing flight QR8252 on behalf of Qatar Airways.

The flight had departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and was on climb when flight crew reported problems with the cabin pressurisation system.
The decision was made to return to the origin airport due to the pressurisation problem. Subsequently, flight crew terminated the climb procedure and entered a holding pattern for the purposes of fuel dumping.
After a brief period of holding to the north east of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, the aircraft made a return. The flight landed without further incident on RWY09R at the origin airport approximately one hour after its initial departure.

Flight data shows that the flight QR8252 had made a delayed departure out of Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Actual time of departure was logged as 1944 local time against the scheduled departure time of 1800 local.
Following its departure, flight crew terminated the climb procedure at flight level FL110 (11,000 feet).
The subsequent holding procedure for fuel dumping was then conducted at 10,000 feet due to the pressurisation problem.
The flight did not declare a formal emergency, and the holding and return was conducted under normal operating procedures.

The aircraft conducting the QR8252 service to Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) was a Boeing 737-400F, registered TC-ACR. This is a 21.9 year old converted freighter aircraft belonging to the carrier ACT Airlines.
It has been in operational service with the freight carrier since June 2015. Prior to this service it was operated by French national carrier Air France from its initial delivery in October 2002.
