5 Injured on United Airlines Flight UA1 San Francisco-Singapore Due to Turbulence

It has emerged that 5 people people were injured on United Airlines flight UA1 between San Francisco and Singapore due to turbulence late last month.

It has emerged that 5 people people were injured on United Airlines flight UA1 between San Francisco and Singapore due to turbulence late last month.

Information has only just come to light regarding the accident at hand.

United Airlines Flight UA1 San Francisco-Singapore…


It has emerged that 5 people people were injured on United Airlines flight UA1 between San Francisco and Singapore due to turbulence late last month.

United Airlines flight UA1, which suffered the turbulence accident, is a routine scheduled flight between San Francisco & Singapore.

Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the accident was N27958.

As per data from Planespotters.net, N27958 is a 9.6 year old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that was delivered to the airline back in September 2015.

Also, of the 787-9 variant, United Airlines has 44 of them in their fleet.

Moreover, of the 44, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 6.6 years.

United Airlines flight UA1, which suffered the turbulence accident, departed San Francisco at 2359 local time on March 26th, bound for Singapore.

As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood that the particular event happened over Philippines airspace.

It is understood that the aircraft encountered severe turbulence at 40,000 feet.

From there, one person was seriously injured, and four suffered minor injuries.

Despite this, the aircraft continued on to it’s destination of Singapore, landing at 0743 local time on March 28th.

Joint Investigation Opened Following Turbulence Accident…

The NTSB and the Philippines CAA have confirmed a joint investigation into the turbulence accident involving United Airlines flight UA1 San Francisco-Singapore.

Furthermore, this investigation had to take place because the event was marked as an accident by investigators.

Data from AirNav Radar highlights that after the arrival into Singapore on the 28th, the aircraft was grounded.

It wasn’t until April 5th that the aircraft was allowed to return back to commercial service.

Moreover, it operated the return UA2 back to San Francisco on that day, landing safely back into the U.S the next day.
