Avianca is poised to conclude 2024 with an impressive achievement, targeting the transportation of nearly 38 million passengers across 24 new routes. This represents a record-breaking milestone in its 105-year history.

This remarkable growth represents a 27% increase in travelers compared to 2019 and a 19% rise from 2023, establishing a comprehensive network of 167 routes spanning over 25 countries.

The airline has strategically introduced eight new destinations, demonstrating its commitment to expanding global connectivity.

These new routes include major international cities such as Paris, Chicago, and Montreal, as well as important regional destinations like Caracas, Aeroparque in Buenos Aires, Havana, Quibdó, and Arauca.

A particularly noteworthy aspect of this expansion is that 14% of passengers are first-time Avianca travelers, highlighting the airline’s successful strategy of accessibility and connectivity.

Elevating Latin American Air Travel

This approach is especially significant in Latin America, where air travel serves as a critical driver of economic growth, tourism, and social development. By opening new routes and making air travel more accessible, Avianca plays a crucial role in connecting communities and supporting regional economic integration.

The airline has introduced several innovative offerings to enhance the travel experience. The flagship Avianca Insignia service for European routes represents a premium travel experience that goes beyond traditional business class.

Passengers can enjoy flatbed seats with a complete 180-degree recline, providing unprecedented comfort for long-haul flights.

The culinary experience has been elevated through a collaboration with renowned chefs Álvaro Clavijo and Catalina Vélez, who have crafted an exclusive haute cuisine menu that showcases the best of Latin American gastronomy.

Complementing the Insignia service, Avianca has expanded its Business Class offering to 34 Intra-America routes. This expansion provides travelers with more options for comfortable and premium travel across the Americas, catering to both business and leisure passengers seeking a higher level of service.

The LifeMiles program has also undergone significant enhancements to provide more value and flexibility to frequent travelers. The program now allows mile accumulation across all fare rates, making it easier for passengers to earn and redeem rewards.

Elite status qualification has been streamlined, with more opportunities for complimentary premium seats and business cabin upgrades. The introduction of the exclusive Concierge Club offers top-tier travelers unprecedented benefits, including European and Intra-America upgrades, premium seat allocations, and mile bonuses.

A Well Developed Network

Avianca’s commitment extends beyond commercial success, with a strong focus on social and environmental responsibility. The airline has developed a network of over 22 social and environmental allies, demonstrating its dedication to creating positive impact. Through the Banco de Millas initiative, the company has directly benefited more than 22,500 people across Colombia and Latin America, showcasing its commitment to community development.

Environmental sustainability is another key focus. By the third quarter of 2024, Avianca had already achieved a nearly 23% reduction in emissions per kilometer flown compared to 2019. This significant achievement underscores the airline’s dedication to responsible growth and environmental stewardship.

Looking Forward

Looking toward 2025, Avianca remains committed to expanding its network, reinforcing its business model, and bringing air transportation benefits to more travelers across Latin America and globally.

By continually focusing on connectivity, innovation, and responsible growth, the airline is not just transporting passengers but transforming the air travel experience and contributing positively to the communities it serves.
